Bight Cottage is a recently renovated ,three bedroom cottage in Albert Street, just off Harbour St, in the heart of Whitstable's historic centre. Whitstable,on the Kent coast,is just over an hour from London and 7 miles from the medieval cathedral city of Canterbury.
Bight Cottage is a lovely Victorian terraced house, with a fresh kitchen and bathroom and all the appliances you would expect. It has traditional sash windows and doors,with double glazing for comfort,as well as original fireplaces (an open fire is possible in the cosy living room), and period features.
There are two double bedrooms and two single beds in the loft room,which is up a steep and narrow staircase. As well as the living room,there is a separate dining room and separate kitchen.Outside,there is a small garden in which to relax ,eat or dry your beach kit.
This cottage is ideal for exploring all that Whitstable has to offer - independent shops, eateries, the harbour, the Whitstable Yacht Club, stunning sunsets and of course the beach - none of which is more than a 2 minute walk away.
Laid out in the traditional manner,Bight Cottage has a comfy front room with leather sofa and twin 60's style chairs and open fire,and has a TV with Freeview Satellite and WiFi throughout.
The back parlour,with seating for six,is a wonderful room for dining or playing family games.
Leading off this room is the slate floored kitchen,well equipped to get creative with local seafood.
At the rear of the house ,the contemporary bathroom has bath with glass-paneled shower above.
The coir covered stairs lead to the two first floor double bedrooms,calm in white with tranquil soft furnishings.
Stairs(these are original,steep and narrow!) lead up to the attic,with two single beds and soft sunlight from the roof window.
Outside,the enclosed garden has decking on which to relax,with a back gate to the alley and road.Barbeque,chairs and table ,sun canopy and clothes line are all provided.
Departure and arrival times usually 11.00am and 3.00pm but flexible on request.
Short breaks are available throughout the year,except in School Holidays. Minimum 2 nights: £100-£130/night weekdays/low season,and £120-£150/night weekends/high season.
